Infant and Child Studies
At the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, we are investigating the ways in which infants and children understand and interpret themselves and other people. There are currently four different laboratories at the Institute, specialized in researching various aspects of infant and child development.

The
Infant Cognition and Action Lab is researching the ways in which infants perceive and understand their own actions as well as the actions of other people. We are located on the 3rd floor of the main building.
Lab for Child Language Research
The
Lab for Child Language Research is researching the ways in which infants and children understand and learn language. We are located on the 2nd floor of the main building.
German Language Development Study at Kinderklinik Lindenhof (COMPLETED)
The MPI's contribution to the
German Language Development Study was a language acquisition project that focused on the infant's discrimination abilities of the speech input by recording event-related potentials (ERP).
