Main Focus

I am a psychologist with a masters degree in neuroscience, so I try to bring these two research methods together to gain an understanding about how humans behave the way they do. I am especially interested in positivity bias, which is described as preferential attention to positive over negative stimuli. Positivity bias is known to be larger in older adults, so in my thesis I combine behavioral measures with psychological measures (i.e. resting state EEG, resting state fMRI, heart rate/blood pressure) and compare younger and older groups in respect to positivity bias. I am additionally interested in knowing how positivity bias relates to well-being, and individual differences that are related to these two phenomena.
