What drives us to trust someone we have just met? How do we treat others who are unfair to us? Most importantly, why? Researches from different disciplines have attempted to investigate the underlying motives of decisions such as prosocial decisions or interpersonal trust with diverging results. Here, I will present a series of recent studies from my lab, in which we shed light on the psychological, neural and metabolic motives and modulators of decisions.

In the first part, I will present a series of studies, investigating the neuroanatomic and neurofunctional mechanisms underlying different decisions. Second, I will present studies, in which we use this knowledge to modulate decisions by manipulating metabolic, hormonal and personality factors.
