Dr Marvin Petersen | Brain imaging and neuropsychological assessment of individuals recovered from a mild to moderate SARS-CoV-2 infection: Insights from the Hamburg City Health Study Covid Programme

Given that SARS-CoV-2 infections have been repeatedly shown to affect the central nervous system, the investigation of associated alterations of brain structure and neuropsychological sequelae is vital to help address emerging health care needs. In this talk, I will discuss findings based on neuroimaging and neuropsychological data from the Hamburg City Health Study (HCHS) COVID Programme. Our results reveal persistent white matter abnormalities in individuals who have recovered from mild to moderate COVID-19, compatible with continuous inflammatory processes. Additionally, I will preview our forthcoming research on Long COVID patients.
