The Little Prince in 26 Languages

The Little Prince Study is a research project that aims to investigate the neural basis of language processing in the human brain. We are currently recruiting participants for the study and are looking for people with different native languages to participate. With your participation you can help us understand how the brain processes language in different languages.


Procedure

1. MRI scan lasting approx. 30 min (with preparations and appointment with the study doctor approx. 2 h). Compensation: approx. 25 Euro
   
2. MEG scan lasting approx. 40 min (with preparations and travel time approx. 3 h). Compensation: approximately 50 Euro.


Requirements

  • Native speaker of one of the 26 languages of interest: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (European), Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese
  • Age 18–35
  • German or English language skills to understand instructions
  • Normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing
  • No neurological or psychiatric disorders or diseases (e.g., epilepsy)
  • No chronic illnesses requiring long-term medication
  • No ongoing medication affecting brain activity
  • No current or planned pregnancy
  • No metal implants of any kind
