You can use our contact form to register for participation in scientific studies investigating cognitive abilities and brain activity at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences Leipzig (MPI-CBS).
By submitting the form, you give us your consent to store and process your personal data in the subject database of the MPI-CBS.

Data subject rights
You have the right to information, correction, restriction, data transfer, deletion, and revocation with regard to the processing of your personal data. To do so, please contact us in writing or by e-mail. You can request the deletion of your data. We will strictly restrict the processing of data that we cannot or are not allowed to delete because, for example, legal obligations to retain data prevent us from doing so. Such data is only accessible to a small circle of administrators and the state authorities.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority: Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision, Postfach 606, 91511 Ansbach, poststelle@lda.bayern.de.
Purposes of processing
Your personal data will only be used for contacting you and planning your studies within the MPI-CBS.
Data processing
The data are transferred daily from the MPI-CBS server to the MPI-CBS subject database in encrypted form and then deleted on the server. Only a defined group of MPI-CBS employees responsible for recruiting study participants has access to the subject database. In addition, application-internal log data in the form of the creation date of the entry and confirmation of consent to the storage of personal data are stored as proof of your consent. No data is transferred to third parties or other countries.
Categories of stored data
The following categories of personal data are stored for contact purposes: Last name, first name, street / house number, city, postcode, telephone numbers, email. The following categories of personal data are stored for study planning purposes: Date of birth, gender, handedness, mother tongue, second language, musical instruments, dyslexia.
Storage duration
The data is stored:
- for as long as the purpose of the storage is fulfilled
- until the data subject requests deletion
- until there has been no contact with the data subject for two years
Revocation of consent
You can revoke your consent to the use of your data at any time. You can send the revocation in writing or by e-mail to the above contact address. Your revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing until the revocation.
Data security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal data and information against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or against access by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
