Main Focus
During my PhD, I am using Electroencephalography (EEG) to study the
spatio-temporal dynamics of gustatory processing in the brain. With the
help of a "Gustometer" designed to deliver taste stimuli with unprecedented precision, I'm looking at the sensory as
well as cognitive aspects of taste perception, with particular focus on
their alterations in human obesity.
More generally, I am
interested in the principles behind the structure-function organisation
of the brain, the interplay between emergent technologies and theories
in cognitive neuroscience, and the efficient use and reporting of
statistics in the field.
