Information & Registration
The symposium is organised by and for doctoral students and early career researchers. We invite anyone interested in discussing problems of and solutions to current academic practice – not only between researchers but also with policymakers – to register for the symposium.
We offer five in-depth workshops and five hands-on sessions dealing with key issues of Good Scientific Practice and Open Science. You can take part in one workshop and one hands-on session only. In the registration form, please indicate your preference for both sessions.
The symposium is intended for advanced master's students, doctoral researchers and post-docs.
The registration form includes a statement of motivation describing your interest in the symposium’s topics and goals. The format of this statement is that of a twitter post – so be creative and try to convince us in no more than 280 characters!
We are also asking you to add one or two questions you would like to ask the panel discussants – you can come up with a general question that is relevant for several or all discussants, or address one of the representatives with a question you have always wanted to get off your chest – it’s up to you! These questions will be collected, summarised and sent to the panel discussants as preparation for the discussion.
Registration is now closed.
Participation is free of charge and includes catering during the event (except dinners).
The symposium will take place in the beautiful city of Leipzig, Germany.
Both days of the syymposium will be hosted at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences.
Detailed information about the institute can be found here.
Social Event and Dinner
There will be a social event with dinner on the evening of the first day of the symposium, November 14. We reserved tables at the cozy Café Cantona which is a 15 min walk from the institute. For food, you can select between three dishes which will be around 15€ each. Drinks will be served individually from the bar. The dinner starts at 6.30 pm.
Come join us and get to know other open science enthusiasts over delicious food and drinks!
