Information for parents about our online studies

Dear parents,

Thank you for your interest in our online studies. On this page you will find information about how to participate in the studies from the comfort of your own home and also an overview of our current studies.

Our studies explore how children develop remarkable skills in almost all areas of thinking— from speech, to action, to social skills—within the first 4 years of life. These developmental steps are particularly significant in the social sphere. We investigate when and how these steps develop and from which age children are able to put themselves in the position of others.

Your participation contributes significantly to answering this question and thus improves our knowledge of child development.

We look forward to working with you and we hope that you and your child enjoy our studies!

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to send us an email to

This study investigates whether this development of self-awareness influences how toddlers aged 1 year and 4 months to 3 years and 6 months perceive new toys in a social context. [more]
